How many grades do you have?

Why do you have multiage classes?
We believe in treating each child as an individual. By following the VELS, this allows us to teach your child according to their stage of development rather than their age. At the begining of each year, teachers conduct a series of assessment tasks to get to know each child and their stage of development. This allows for grouping of students with 'like' ability for daily teaching groups. For students emotional and social development, teachers group students in 'mixed' ability groupings. This structure allows HWPS to cater for all students whilst teaching individuals to be cooperative and respectful members of our community. For further reading, please click on this link.
